The Industrial and Commercial Bank (ICB) was promoted and organized by T. T. Cheng, Commissioner of Finance in Guangdong under Dr. Sun Yat-sen 1923. Its head office was opened in Hong Kong in 1921. The bank maintained offices in Hankou and Shanghai. Industrial and Commercial Bank Limited is unrelated to the modern Industrial and Commercial Bank, one of the largest banks in China.
