About This Series

The Trésor Français series of Germany in the World Currency contains 5 distinct entries.
Pursuant to Article 74 of Act No. 46-2914 of 23 December 1946, the Minister of Finance was authorized in the name of the Trésor Français (TRE) to introduce franc notes in the French zones in Austria and Germany for use by French and allied forces. These notes were used in settlement of general budget expenses or in exchange for French francs or other foreign currencies.
