Israel. AI Features on New Gold and Silver Proof Coins Marking 77th Anniversary of Independence
The Holy Land Mint release gold and silver proof coins marking a national celebration.
To mark the country’s 77th anniversary of independence, the topic of Artificial Intelligence is the primary focus. Israel is a small country with a great impact and leading at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence, known as AI, contributing to the advancement of various fields of modern life. One of the leading countries with creative solutions that reshape the reality of 21st century living, Israel has come to be known as the ‘Start-Up Nation’. AI-based surveillance and diagnostic systems are able to give precise and effective responses to different threats, while maintaining high ethical standards.
For the special efforts of the State of Israel and its AI hi-tech industries, it is well-positioned on the world stage, recognised for its creativity, brilliance and courage to think ahead. Israel’s technological vision goes far beyond the present, looking towards creating a better future for humanity across the globe. They are living proof that artificial intelligence is not only a technological tool but also a beacon of light of ground-breaking innovation which they are sharing with the entire world.

The gold and silver proof coins are produced by the Holy Land Mint at their facilities in Nesher, Haifa on behalf of the Bank of Israel and designed by graphic artist Osnat Eshel. The obverse side of the gold and silver options features the image of a human head off-centre and within the shape is an AI chip at the location of the brain, along with a Star of David in its centre. In the background is a pattern of electronic connectors and linear shapes representing the use of computers and programming data. Above the primary design and along the upper rim is the inscription ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE which is shown in English, Hebrew and Arabic. The reverse side features at the top of the design, the inscription INDEPENDENCE DAY 2025 in English and Hebrew. The Israeli State Emblem is placed to the right off-centre just below the inscription. The coins’ denomination is shown as a numeral placed near the left along with the text NEW SHEKEL in Hebrew, English and Arabic shown below the numeral. To the right, emerging from the edge is a similar pattern of electronic connectors and linear shapes seen on the obverse and below, the text ISRAEL in English, Hebrew and Arabic is seen along the lower rim. On the lower right is the Hebrew letter Mem ("מ") mintmark denoting a proof strike or, the Star of David denoting proof-like quality.
