This one-of-a-kind collectible highlights Samoan baseball which has its history rooted in the 20th century and which continues to grow, gaining popularity particularly after the country gained independence in 1962. With notable players like Tony Solaita and more recently Sean Manaea making significant impacts, baseball has a heightened presence, with many Samoans excelling in the sport. In fact, history was made during the 2023 season when the first Samoan battery in Major League Baseball history was formed by pitcher Sean Manaea and catcher Blake Sabol. This notable pairing took place during a game for the San Francisco Giants, where Manaea pitched and Sabol caught.

Just in time for the start of the MLB season, the first-ever fully designed 3-D coin made of pure silver is unveiled and replicates all of the detail of a baseball. The design mirrors the unmistakable look, complete with its iconic two-panel construction and detailed stitching. The perfectly spherical silver proof quality coins are crafted and designed by Singapore-based Company Spectres on behalf of the Central Bank of Samoa. Featured on the ball is a stylised baseball-themed logo of the issuing country of SAMOA, the denomination 5 TALA along with the year of issue, 2025. Also included is the official coat of arms and a fictional team name THE BULLION BOMBERS created especially for the unique design and which is a nod to both precious metal collectors and baseball fans.

Its surface is adorned with meticulously replicated detailed stitching that mimics the iconic red seams of a real ball. Also included on the surface and part of the design are the specifications 999 Fine Silver. Unique to this coin is each one will carry an individual serial number in the style of 0000/1000 HOME RUNS. The distinctive company logo of Spectres, a small ghost is placed just under the serial number.
