The United States Mint has selected 37 American artists to participate in its Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) to create and submit new designs for coins and medals.
Just three examples are known today, one of which is in the National Numismatic Collection of the Smithsonian Institution. Another piece has 33 P’s punched on the obverse, and the word PLATINA engraved on the reverse in cursive.
