On nine occasions in the 20th century, the Denver Mint produced fewer than one million coins in a certain year and denomination.
1863 Half Dollar. A continuation of the experimental model series begun in 1861. Seven sets of originals said to have been struck, and restrikes exist. Copper impressions usually with bronzed surfaces.

Regular Liberty Seated die of the year.
Reverse Description
Similar to regular die of the year but with GOD OUR TRUST on scroll; die first used in 1861 for J-277.
