The United States Mint has selected 37 American artists to participate in its Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) to create and submit new designs for coins and medals.

Obverse Description
Actually a trade dollar pattern die, with Liberty seated at the seashore, similar to J-1396 twenty-cent piece (complete with illogical depiction of ship), but here with a ribbon below the base inscribed IN GOD WE TRUST.
Reverse Description
Commercial dollar die. Large wreath enclosing COMMERCIAL DOLLAR / 420 GRS. / 900 FINE. On wreath ribbon is GOD OUR TRUST. At the top border is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
