1877 Quarter Dollar. William Barber's sailors head design similar to that used on 20 cent, half eagle and eagle patterns of 1875 and on dollar patterns of 1876. This design was also used in 1877 on dime, half dollar and dollar patterns.
Obverse Description
Barber’s Liberty Head facing left, wearing coronet inscribed LIBERTY, with pearl border above, hair tied back with a ribbon. IN GOD WE TRUST above, stars to left and right, 1877 below.
Reverse Description
Regular die of the year.

While reviewing the initial results in various categories of recent auctions, my initial take is that the sales were moderate to strong.
More than 300 lots, consisting of high quality Walking Liberty half dollars from the Mack C. Chase Collection are set to cross the auction block as part of Stack's Bowers Galleries' November Showcase Auction, the official auction of the Whitman Expo.
