CAC approved and CACG encapsulated coins fared well in public sales during the month of September 2026.
The 1880 proof Morgan dollars are well struck and much of the original mintage survives today, mostly with cameo contrast. The vast majority of all 1880 proof Morgans are found in the grades of PR60-64, with a few dozen in MS65 and handfuls each in MS66, MS67, and MS68. Amazingly, a couple outstanding MS69s exist in regular and cameo formats. Deep cameo proofs are exceedingly rare.
