This pattern, or experimental, item was one of a number of issues struck by various private enterprises to determine alternate substances for minting of coins to preserve copper, tin, and nickel for the war effort.
Obverse Description
The obverse design is a reproductionof the Columbian two-centavo.
Reverse Description
The reverse is copied from a Washington medal (Baker 155).
