1861 Half Dollar. Patterns originally issued in December 1861 to test the concept of a motto on coinage. Copper impressions usually with bronzed surfaces. Obverse die varieties exist.

Regular Liberty Seated die of the year.
Reverse Description
Design similar to the regular issue except with GOD OUR TRUST on scroll above the eagle.
