Commissioners reviewed reverse designs for the four American Innovation dollars scheduled to be released in 2028 and obverse and reverse designs for the 2027 issues in the Comic Art Coin and Medal Program.
Issued through the Texas Bullion Depository®, the collection represents far more than a commemorative product series.
It marks the beginning of a uniquely Texan vision: a state-sanctioned bullion series designed to honor Texas history while reinforcing the importance of sound money, tangible wealth, and long-term preservation through physical gold and silver ownership.
The series debuted in a limited inaugural release featuring both gold and silver commemorative coins, alongside the introduction of the Modern Redbacks. Select inaugural commemorative notes were also struck in limited, high-grade formats, enhancing both their rarity and their long-term appeal to collectors and investors alike.
Obverse Description
The obverse features a refined depiction of Lady Liberty seated beside the Texas State Capitol. She extends her arm toward the Lone Star above the Capitol dome, representing aspiration, guidance, and the enduring principles of freedom. The Capitol adds historical context, while the year 2026 completes the design.
Reverse Description
The reverse design remains consistent across all Texas Lone Stars, serving as the unifying hallmark of the series. It features the Official Coat of Arms of Texas: centered on the iconic lone star and framed by live oak and olive branches, along with inscriptions including “THE STATE OF TEXAS” and the Texas state motto, “FRIENDSHIP.”
