Results Set Record for the Firm's Highest Grossing Auction Sale in its 90+ Year History.
The 1880-CC Morgan dollar with the Reverse of 1879 shows a slanted top arrow feather and a more rounded breast -- a design motif that was packaged among the larger grouping of 1880-CC Morgan dollars that made it into the GSA sale. In all, 131,529 examples of the 1880-CC Morgan dollar were offered in the GSA sale, though an untold number of those feature the Reverse of 1879. PL and DMPL specimens are extremely challenging to find.

Greysheet News
While reviewing the initial results in various categories of recent auctions, my initial take is that the sales were moderate to strong.
More than 300 lots, consisting of high quality Walking Liberty half dollars from the Mack C. Chase Collection are set to cross the auction block as part of Stack's Bowers Galleries' November Showcase Auction, the official auction of the Whitman Expo.
