These 2008-W Buffalo gold coins contain one-tenth ounce of .9999-fine gold and were made with both burnished and proof finishes. The West Point Mint struck a total of 17,429 examples of the uncirculated $5 gold American Buffalo coins while 18,884 examples of the proof specimens were made.
