Legend Auctions Shuts Down Operations -- Open for Business at Legend Numismatics
Laura Sperber, owner: "Legend Numismatics happens to be very healthy and is growing!"
According to a statement posted on the Legend Auctions web site, the auction company will be shuttering operations as of 12/31/2023. Jessica Berkman is attending the FUN show during the first week of January and will be available for questions. She can also be reached via email at: jessica@legendauctions.com.
The following message was posted on the Legend Auctions web site on December 27:
2023 was a very difficult year for me. I received a new kidney in May and took 7+ months to recover. I am finally healed and will be at the FUN show. Upon doing some reflecting about my life and health, I decided to close Legend Rare Coin Auctions. We will not be having any more sales. All consignors will be paid on time.
NOTE: LRCA is NOT the same company as Legend Numismatics. They share zero in common save for the brand name. Legend Numismatics happens to be very healthy and is growing!
I enjoyed working with all the people I met through the auctions. We handled several hundred million of some wicked cool coins. Believe me, this decision was not easy. I say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who made Legend Auctions work as well as it did. I also thank you great staff for their dedication and hard work. Jessica Berkman will be attending the FUN show next week and is available for questions, she can be reached at Jessica@legendauctions.com.
I'll still be in business with George and Jose for a very long time. We expect a great 2024. Remember, it's Legend Auctions that is closing, NOT Legend Numismatics!
Best Wishes,
Laura Sperber
