The former Notenbank had its note-issuing privileges curtailed until, by 1906, only four were still issuing banknotes. Badische Bank (BB), which first issued notes in 1848, was one of these. Its note-issuing privileges were revoked in 1935. After a series of mergers and acquisitions, Badische Bank is now Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, headquartered in Stuttgart. For earlier Badische Bank notes, see Baden.
