The Past, Present & Future of CDN Publishing

An Annual Report from John Feigenbaum, CEO

The Past

In the past, we were a newsletter company, that grew into magazine. A critical and trusted source for industry pricing, the Greysheet was our flagship product for U.S. coin dealers. We acquired The Banknote Book in 2020 and added world paper money to our offerings, and to beef up the depth of our structured catalog data. In parallel, we've grown CDN Exchange as a vital resource for professionals to communicate and research pricing quickly.

The Present

In 2022, we emerged from the COVID and started hitting coin shows again, in full force. We spent the time of lockdowns to grow our data infrastructure, and build relationships around the world -- via Zoom -- but meeting our virtual friends in person helped to solidify our footing as the premier data-services provider for the numismatic trade. We officially moved on from the role of "magazine publisher" to that of a critical source of information for a growing trade. One such example is CAC Grading, who is using our catalog (or numbering system) for U.S. coins to identify coins submitted for grading, their population report, and online price guide. Online sellers like PWCC, APMEX, and U.S. Coins license our pricing data for internal use to help their buyers make informed decisions. Heritage Auctions, Stack's Bowers Galleries, and David Lawrence Rare Coins use our pricing data both internally and externally -- to inform their bidders.

At the same time, we added a robust layer of information to our web site subscribers, offering much-needed information for collectors (beginner to advanced) and investors alike. In addition to the best available industry pricing, we offer timely news, and important podcasts with the most important personalities in the business.

With a small but dedicated team, CDN is proud to serve a vital role in the numismatic ecosystem. One we feel is irreplaceable.

The Future

What's next for us? We will continue to seek data partners around the world: auction companies, authentication companies, world mints (producers), retail sellers, and marketplaces, to build out our catalogs and add pricing for our subscribers.

We will continue to invest in state-of-the-art software to make this information available to all who benefit. Of course, you can also expect the unexpected from this great, little company. We love coins, paper money, buyers, and sellers. You never know what we might do next... Until then, I personally thank you for your current (or future) support.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous 2023.

Sincerely,
John Feigenbaum
President & CEO
