Berlin, Germany – From February 2 to 4, around 300 exhibitors from over 50 nations showcased their offerings at the Estrel Congress Center in Berlin. The event not only featured collector's items and fascinating innovations in coins and medals but also presented technological advancements in the manufacturing and minting sectors.

The team led by the fair's director, Goetz-Ulf-Jungmichel, had strategically realigned various aspects of the World Money Fair, which has been taking place since 1972. With success: The fair recorded approximately 13,500 visits over the three days on the 9,000 square meters of exhibition space along Berlin's Sonnenallee, setting a new attendance record. "Our goal is to continue developing the World Money Fair into the most attractive numismatic marketplace in the world," stated Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel. "With the World Money Fair 2024, we have made significant strides towards this goal."

The fair had already commenced on February 1 for trade visitors. In the "Technical Forum," mints and manufacturers presented innovations related to the production of coins and medals. The auction by the Osnabrück auction house Künker on Thursday was also highly successful, generating around 11 million euros from the 770 lots of rare coins and medals – approximately 4 million euros more than anticipated.

The public fair days from Friday to Sunday were dominated by exclusive fair mintings, some of which sold out within hours. Host country France, in collaboration with the state mint "Monnaie de Paris," presented the multi-part series of official 2-euro commemorative coins featuring the emblem "Paris 2024" for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer. Other highlights included the new "Live Stage" at the fair's entrance, where coin providers and mints showcased their latest products, as well as beginner advice for collectors by the Professional Association of German Coin Dealers e.V. and the new "World Money Fair Club."

The World Money Fair will continue to evolve in 2025. Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel announced further innovations for the fair, scheduled to take place in Berlin from January 30, 2025, to February 1, 2025. "We will adjust the duration of the fair from Thursday to Saturday and enhance the Technical Forum even more professionally. Additionally, we will reorganize the thematic areas of the World Money Fair and design a hall tour." The guest country next year will be Switzerland, represented by the Federal Mint Swissmint.
