New coins from the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, and Malta.
A ten-coin program issued by the Royal Spanish Mint to mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, and to put on record the decisive part Spain played in it — from the campaigns of Bernardo de Gálvez on the Gulf Coast to the Spanish milled dollar that became the model for the first American dollar. Three coins were released in 2025 and seven in 2026.
Obverse Description
The bald eagle in full flight, rendered in color, wings outstretched above the intertwined flags of the two nations — the emblem of the authority, power and freedom won by the American people.
Reverse Description
Charles III of Spain and George Washington, the two leaders whose decisions shaped the outcome of the war: the King who backed the fight against Great Britain, and the Commander-in-Chief who led the Continental Army to victory at Trenton, Princeton and Yorktown.
