The 1880 25 Cents is part of a series of Seated Liberty quarter coins struck from 1866-1891. Struck in Philadelphia and designated as a Proof (PR) strike, this coin is made of 90% silver; 10% copper from a mintage of 1,355 struck.
Obverse: Lady liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 Stars frame the periphery with the date at the bottom middle under the rock.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUAR. DOL. around the periphery. A ribbon above the eagle's head bears the motto IN GOD WE TRUST
