Ltd. for three denominations of notes. These were issued only four days after the new currency ordinance that formed The Gambia Currency Board (GCB) came into force on 1 October 1964. The Gambia achieved independence on 18 February 1965, as a constitutional monarchy within the Commonwealth of Nations.
