Historic sales results, comparable coins make researching prior to bidding and consigning easier

DALLAS (May 10, 2017) – Heritage Auctions, the world’s largest numismatic auctioneer, is now showing comparable results from past auctions and third-party grading service population data on nearly all of its World Coins search results, the company announced today, making Heritage Auctions’ World Coins database the most powerful pricing tool in the world.

“These new features are all designed around increasing bidder confidence and furthering our mission in complete transparency at Heritage Auctions,” said Cristiano Bierrenbach, Executive Vice President of International Numismatics. “These innovations have been 10 years in the making. It transforms a simple search into an encyclopedia of information for the bidder or consigner.”

As part of the innovation, World Coin auctions will include NGC and PCGS population reports and past auction results for similar examples on almost all of its world coin lot pages. The data is extremely useful for researching coins and prior auction results. No other coin company in the world offers as much comprehensive data on World Coins as this new feature offers Heritage’s online bidder-members, Bierrenbach said.

When browsing lots for auctions, clients will see results for comparable coins, as well as the population data for the type whenever possible. No longer will clients have to go to three or more different sources in order to determine the value and rarity of a particular coin—it is all conveniently presented in one place on the lot page. These features are just the first of many technological innovations that Heritage plans to introduce for world and ancient coins in the coming months and years.

Heritage Auctions is the largest fine art and collectibles auction house founded in the United States, and the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer. Heritage maintains offices in New York, Dallas, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Chicago, Palm Beach, Paris, Geneva, Amsterdam and Hong Kong.

The Internet’s most popular auction-house website, HA.com, has over one million registered bidder-members, and searchable free archives of four million past auction records with prices realized, descriptions and enlargeable photos. Reproduction rights routinely granted to media for photo credit.
