About This Series

The Treasury series of Saar in the World Currency contains 12 distinct entries.
A plebiscite held on 13 January 1935, resulted in the region’s reintegration with Germany as the Saarland. However, after World War II, the Saarland again came under French occupation in 1945, and was administered as the Saar Protectorate from 16 February 1946. In 1947, it was united economically with France.
